The Cat, The Ex, and The Unexpected Miracle

Dear Athena,

here is a sweet little story about a missing cat. After breaking up with my boyfriend, I moved to a different apartment while he continued to live in the house we had bought together. One of our neighbors had an older cat that used to live in our house. Because of this, she often visited us, and we knew her well. Despite the breakup, my ex-boyfriend and I remained on good terms. One day, he told me that the cat had been missing for several weeks. She used to roam freely over a wide area, often staying out long after breakfast. However, on one particular day, she didn’t return home. At first, it didn’t raise much concern, but after the second and third day passed without her return, it became clear that something was wrong. Due to her age and the busy streets nearby, the owners feared the worst.

When I heard this, I felt deeply saddened for the cat. Despite having a cat allergy and not being particularly fond of them, I was touched by the situation. The neighbors had begun to lose hope of her safe return. When my ex-boyfriend shared this story with me, I immediately visualized the situation. I thought to myself how sad it would be if she never came home and something terrible had happened to her after all this time. I hoped she would return safely, but I also had to accept the possibility that she might not.

After our conversation, I soon forgot about the cat. About ten days later, on a Sunday, I went to the gym as usual. Looking back, the whole day felt odd. I changed my plans for no apparent reason. Normally, I would go to the gym around 1 PM, but on that day, I felt an inner urge to go earlier. I didn’t question this change and just went along with it. Even my routine at the gym, where I usually trained on specific machines, felt completely different that day. It was as if I was being guided by something external, but I wasn’t afraid; I just accepted it.

Near one of the machines I was using, there was an open window because of the warm weather. During my break, I had another inexplicable urge to look out the window. Without hesitation, I did so and saw a cat walking along the sidewalk. It looked exactly like the missing cat. I was so excited. Something told me to take a photo quickly. She was moving fast, so I took out my phone, zoomed in, and sent the photo to my ex-boyfriend, telling him that I might have found the cat.

My ex-boyfriend replied and said he would forward the photo to the neighbors to confirm. Although my gym was in the same city, it was quite far from where the cat lived, so it was possible she had wandered there and couldn’t find her way back. About half an hour later, I received a reply from my ex-boyfriend. He told me that it wasn’t the cat. For a brief moment, I was disappointed. Then, he shared the incredible news that the missing cat had actually returned home two or three days before and was doing very well. I couldn’t believe it and burst out laughing. Even my ex-boyfriend, who lived right next door, didn’t know she was back.

I find this story amazing because it illustrates so many aspects of manifestation. Looking back, the sequence of events unfolded precisely because I followed my inner voice without questioning it, leading me to discover the cat at exactly the right moment. I also noticed that when I manifest things for others, the universe ALWAYS gives me some indication, directly or indirectly, that the manifestation has worked.

 Love,
